Just brought scout plans, is your list of modifications still available as cannot access off web page,your an insppiration,hopefully my scout will work but you seem to have cured the glitches. Any other river SOLENT Southampton builders out there?

Excellent site; Am building an UH18 in W.Sussex. Thanks for all the info on the plans corrections, problems and adjustments. I can add them into the build. Will save me days (weeks) of hassle.Shame I'm at the other end of our isles.Perhaps we'll meet on a hoverin one day and I'll buy you a dram or three:-).

Its great to see a web site devoted to cruising, and nice to see Sevtec hovercraft being built and used in the UK, I always liked some thing a little different. I have always been interested in hovercraft but thought that there were few places that they could be used over here. Now I know better. Great web site. Regards John Hughes

Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into building and testing different hovercraft. It's nice to see someone doing some comparisons out there!It's true that Barry Palmer's designs are not as pretty to look at as some others, but they are very efficient and practical. Here in the USA his craft are thought of as the Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV's) of the Hovercraft world. They will go places others can't handle.Regards, Phil

Fantastic site. I have the plans for a Prospector (after viewing on your site) and have had the plans for a UH18 for a year or so but like some of your other guests on the site, find locating equivalent suppliers a bit of a problem. But you have certainly given me the boost that I need to get going. If you could find the time to help out by suggesting suppliers, it would be much appreciated.

Hi:-|At last I found have found someone who has built a UH craft in the UK. I have the plans and specs for the 18sp Craft but have been a bit confused over which materials are equivilant to the US spec. Can you please enlighten me as to which materials to use on this craft and a possible supplier. I have built a craft before some 30 years ago which used a thin ply construction and Cascamite glue. It had a fingered skirt which took weeks to fabricate and used to fill up with water, which weighted it down considerably. Will post some pictures of it on the web site when I find them. :-)If you could find the time to let me know about the hull foam, it would be much appreciated and allow me to make a start.#-)Kindest regards to you, Pete... 8-0

Absolutely superb site.Been a coastal motor boat person for many years & a marine diesel expert, but fed up having to tow and manouvre a 3 ton vessel. I'm going to dip my toe in the recreational hovercraft bath!!What a great start. This is a great site. My son and I are in the middle of building a one seater for our first attempt a hovercraft piloting.(Similar to a UH12):-}This site has some fantastic information.The better part might be some inspiration as well.!

Excellent site. I really enjoy to read your comments. I recently purchased a 10 year old Prospector and intend to restore the craft when the weather in North Eastern Pennsylvania becomes warm. That is uaually the end of April. I hope to be as successful as your were in your build.

great job on all 3 craft. looking to build 16' surveyor in '07. have planset. would like to use suburu or v.w as yank or jap l.mower motors cost a bomb here. same,same foam & f/glass. marine ply? anyway great informitive site,all the best.
